I am a backend developer and this is my first time hiring a web designer.

The designer’s job is to create 5 generic eCommerce designs for a generic eCommerce website which I built using PHP for the backend and Bootstrap for the frontend.

I don’t want the actual website to be styled with Bootstrap but with CSS/Sass instead.

Should I provide the designer with:

  1. a wireframe

  2. pure HTML + Backend

  3. Bootstrap + Backend (see screenshots below)

  4. Other

I can even host my website in its current form so that the designer can even interact with the backend and get a full idea of how the website works such as redirects, flash messages, etc. and like this he will know what other hidden elements there are that require styling (modals, popups, flash messages).

r/webdev - Webdesigners : Do you prefer to be provided with a wireframe or a simple HTML/Bootstrap layout to understand the requirements?
