I’m a back-end (PHP) web developer by trade, but since being reduced to a 4-day week at work due to COVID-19 I’ve been trying to make the most of my extra free time by learning a new skill – mobile app development! I’ve been using the existing web technologies I’m comfortable with and built a basic app using Javascript and Cordova. The whole thing is a little over 600 lines of vanilla Javascript. It is simple game loop using requestanimationframe and the graphics are just strokes and fills on a canvas element using isometric calculations. Please give it a try, hopefully you’ll find it a fun and simple (possibly addictive) game to pass your time!
