Hi guys! I’m doing my graphic design undergraduate thesis on how Keith’s imagery has become really commodified and 30 years after his death is still being made into so so many different products (many of which you can see in this subreddit haha). I’m basically trying to figure out through research a hypothesis on why he is still really popular as a brand. I have some opinions but I would love to hear first hand from some Haring fans who have bought Haring products.

I also want to touch on how people really love his image and often play this out in DIY recreations of his work rather than purchasing an object.

I wanted to ask what would motivate you to buy a Keith Haring product? Is it to show off that you know him? Is it anything to do with his history of activism and work on gay rights? Is it because a lot of Keith Haring streetwear like trainers or clothing are really cool irrespective of knowing his background or life story. Is it the colors? You tell me haha.

Really appreciate any answers, theories or inputs you guys might have! I’m getting some help from the Haring archive with it as well but I’m going to do lots of research first.

Might end up making this into a more streamlined google survey but wanted to try this casually first

Some eg’s of what I’m talking about!! Can add more products if people want – there is literally everything from a genuine Keith Haring Barbie to Haring Doorstops.
