This is my first website ever and my site is registered with Google Domains. I’m using digital ocean as a host.

When I type in “www.websitename.com” or “websitename.com” or “http://www.websitename.com” or “http://websitename.com” I get the following error: “We can’t connect to the server at my-website.”

However, when I type in precisely “https://www.websitename.com” — then everything works fine.

I’m very new to this whole thing, so please excuse my ignorance. The droplet I’m using is named “My Website”, so it seems to me that when the user goes to (for example) “websitename.com”, the Google Domains DNS settings I’ve set redirect the user to the “My Website” droplet, but from that point on, something screws up and the user cannot access the website.

Could anyone please help me resolve this?
